On the Bugaksan Palgakjeong K-Food Course (Ramyeon & Gimbap & Hanok Cafe), you can explore Seoul’s history and culture while enjoying panoramic views of the city. Starting at the Seoul Hiking Tourism Center’s Bugaksan Branch, the trail passes through Samcheong Park and leads to Bugak Palgakjeong, where you can rest. From there, you’ll descend via Sukjeongmun Gate and Malbawi Rock Observatory, taking in views of Seoul. Known as the “Bugak Skyway,” Palgakjeong is easy to reach and offers beautiful scenery and traditional architecture. You can also cook your own ramen using a ramen cooker, making it a great spot to enjoy Korea’s ramen and gimbap. Sukjeongmun Gate is one of the four main gates of the Seoul Fortress Wall and reflects the architectural style of the Joseon Dynasty. After the hike, unwind at a cozy café in Samcheong-dong with a view of Bugaksan.

Malbawi Rock Observatory is known for offering panoramic views of Seoul and the surrounding fortress walls. After walking through a scenic pine forest trail, you’ll reach Malbawi Rock—a small yet impressive spot with diverse views. From here, you can spot many of Seoul’s landmarks in all directions: Dongdaemun to the east, Yeouido, Inwangsan, and Bugaksan to the west, Jongno, Gwanghwamun, and Gyeongbokgung Palace to the south, and Dobongsan to the north. It’s fun to try identifying each location from this single viewpoint. Historically, Malbawi Rock was a place where royal officials would rest with their horses during the Joseon Dynasty, enjoying poetry and the shade. Today, people still visit for its open views, stunning sunrise and sunset, and a chance to take in Seoul’s urban landscape in a moment of calm.
