On the Seoul Trail Course 10 (Umyeonsan) Course, you can explore Umyeonsan while following the trail and enjoy nature within the city. The Seoul Trail is made up of 21 different courses that circle the entire city. And you can also join a stamp tour along the way, adding extra fun to your hike. Course 10, themed “A Road through Seoul Seen from the Mountains,” features gentle slopes and is perfect for forest walks and forest bathing. It allows you to circle Umyeonsan entirely, with a moderate difficulty level that makes it enjoyable for everyone. Umyeonsan, the heart of Course 10, means “a mountain where a cow is lying down,” and some say it looks like a big rock wearing a gat(Korean traditional hat). This course is especially loved as a healing trail where you can fully enjoy nature, including the barrier-free forest path!

Maeheon Citizen’s Forest, located alongside Yangjaecheon Stream, is a city park where you can enjoy various trees and seasonal scenery. It is Korea’s first urban park to combine a forest and a park, creating a dense woodland rarely seen in the city. Built to commemorate the 1986 Seoul Asian Games and the 1988 Seoul Olympics, it has become a beloved spot for rest and recreation. Each plaza is planted with different types of trees, and the park features sports facilities, a dog playground, and more—making it rich in both things to see and enjoy. The name “Maeheon” comes from the pen name of Yun Bong-gil, a Korean independence activist, and within the park, you can also visit the Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall. There, you’ll find his relics and records of his independence efforts, making your visit even more meaningful.

The Hanyang Fortress Night View Course offers a scenic walk along the Hanyangdoseong from Hyehwamun to Gwanghuimun, where you can take in stunning night views of Seoul. The Hanyangdoseong is a fortress wall surrounding the downtown area of Hanyang, the capital during the Joseon Dynasty. Built in 1396, it was maintained and renovated several times, serving its purpose for 514 years. It holds the record as the longest-serving fortress wall still existing worldwide and is known as one of the largest and best-preserved cultural heritages. If you look closely at the wall, you may spot names of officials or agencies responsible for its construction—evidence of over 600 years of living history. Be sure to take photos of the romantic murals in Ihwa Mural Village and the breathtaking nightscape from Naksan Park and Heunginjimun Gate. Toward the end of the course, you can also see a reconstructed structure of the Ogansumun Water Gate, the water gate where Cheonggyecheon Stream once exited the fortress.

Naksan Park is a well-known spot for enjoying beautiful night views of Seoul, where the Hanyangdoseong (Seoul City Wall) meets lush greenery. Connected to Hyehwamun, Dongdaemun, and Daehak-ro, it offers plenty to see and do before or after your hike. Among the four main mountains in central Seoul, Naksan is the lowest, with well-maintained walking paths. At 124 meters tall, its hump-like shape has earned it the nickname “Camel Mountain.” Because it's easy to access and offers sweeping views of the city, it's also a popular date spot. The night view from here is especially famous, with the illuminated fortress wall and city lights blending into one of Seoul's most beautiful evening scenes. From the Hyehwa Station side, there are three observation plazas where you can also enjoy sports facilities. Don’t forget to take in the view from Naksanjeong Pavilion, located on one side of the plaza!
