The sweltering heat of July has officially begun!

New festivals full of summer's vibrant energy have arrived.

Cool air from the air conditioner is nice, but why not make memories you can only enjoy this July?

Before the full heat of summer kicks in, you'll recharge both your energy and your spirit.

Let's begin😎

At the Summer Flower & Campsis Grandiflora Festival, you can enjoy not only the vibrant campsis grandifloras but also a variety of charming summer blooms like hydrangeas, verbenas, and Shasta daisies—all in one place. The Campsis grandiflora is known not only for its vivid orange petals but also for its unique upward growth, symbolizing strength and dignity. Unlike many flowers that bloom just once, this flower blossoms multiple times throughout the season, allowing visitors to enjoy its fresh beauty during the entire blooming period. The festival takes place at Vicheollin, a healing theme park nestled in the nature of Jeju. In addition to flower viewing, you can explore the Maze Park, a tranquil space decorated with evergreens, and walk the Gotjawal trail, where you can breathe in Jeju’s natural phytoncides. There are also exciting activities such as kayaking along the waterways and riding the Trike—similar to a go-cart but capable of drifting—for an even more thrilling festival experience!

At Beauty Play in Myeong-dong and Jenny House Cheongdam Hill, anyone can transform into a K-pop idol with professional hair and makeup. In Dongdaemun, you can explore a free beauty lounge inside a Seoul beauty complex and enjoy wellness programs such as personalized herbal tea recommendations and tastings based on your body type, as well as experience Korean traditional treatments. There’s more—enjoy fashion-related experiences in Hongdae, explore medical tourism including AI skin diagnosis at Cheonggyecheon, and create your own custom keyrings and coasters for free in Seongsu!

At the Daegu Chimac Festival, you can enjoy 'chimac'—the popular pairing of chicken and beer—in Daegu, a city known for its historical and traditional connection to chicken. Daegu is the hometown of many chicken franchises and is famous as the city of chimac. Nearby Andong holds records of a dish called 'pogye,' which dates back to the Joseon Dynasty, where chicken was coated in flour and deep-fried. In Daegu, a city deeply connected to chicken, cool down your summer nights with a variety of beer and chicken. The festival is divided into five zones, each decorated with different themes where you can enjoy chicken or participate in events. This year’s festival will be held under the slogan ‘Chimac Sensation,’ featuring diverse booths and a wide range of chicken menus. Don’t miss the Blood Horror Club, where you can beat the heat with thrilling experiences, and the Water Concert space combining water and EDM for a refreshing summer vibe.

The Geumsan Samgyetang Festival is the first in Korea to celebrate samgyetang by highlighting the harmony of its key elements—water and medicinal herbs. You can enjoy various samgyetangs made with ginseng and special local ingredients from the Geumsan region, along with diverse summer health culture experiences to boost your well-being. Samgyetang is a traditional summer health food, made by simmering chicken with glutinous rice, ginseng, jujubes, chestnuts, and other medicinal herbs. It is typically eaten on the hottest days of the year—Chobok, Jungbok, and Malbok—to restore energy during the summer with its high-calorie nutrition. This year, the festival wraps up on July 20, which marks Chobok—the first of the three hottest days of summer. Don’t miss the chance to boost your health with a bowl of samgyetang! Geumsan is famous for its ginseng, grown using a traditional cultivation method preserved for 1,500 years, which is even listed as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System. This special ginseng is used in various dishes and experiences, offering visitors a unique and memorable time.

The Boryeong Mud Festival is one of Korea’s famous festivals, utilizing the rich mud found around Daecheon Beach. In 1998, as Daecheon Beach was gradually being forgotten and the local economy was struggling, the then mayor of Daecheon sought to make use of the abundant mud near the beach. As a result, this festival has grown into a major summer event attracting millions of visitors every year. Experience the fun of playing and rolling around in the mud, just like when you were a child, covering your entire body with Boryeong mud! It’s a refreshing way to beat the heat. The festival offers various food options, mud-related activities, and exciting performances. During the day, enjoy mud and water play, and at night, take in the dazzling shows and stages. Boryeong mud is known for its excellent skin benefits, such as anti-aging and detoxification, so after having fun, you’ll notice your skin feeling smoother and more refreshed!

The Pohang Youngildae Sand Festival takes place against the backdrop of Yeongildae Beach in Pohang, where you can admire intricate and mystical sand sculptures. The festival is held at two locations: Yeongildae Beach and Songdo Beach. Larger sculptures are mainly displayed at Yeongildae, while smaller, more detailed works can be viewed up close at Songdo Beach. Due to the fine craftsmanship, the sculptures look as if they are solid and firm, but they are actually made of sand that crumbles with a slight touch, so be careful when passing near the artworks. Last year’s festival featured many sand sculptures symbolizing Pohang, such as a parody of Mount Rushmore carved with famous figures representing Pohang, and sculptures of characters from the drama “When the Camellia Blooms,” which is set in Pohang. This year, enjoy the amazingly detailed sand art by the romantic summer sea of Pohang!
