The January festivals are exceptionally well-organized, showcasing events that truly capture the essence of the season.

The theme is centered around accumulated snow and seasonal ingredients.

This festival is always lively with participants, even in the cold weather, so be sure to visit!

Let's begin😎

Yangpyeong in Winter is a delightful event where you can experience the charm of Yangpyeong through various themes. The entire Yangpyeong-gun area serves as the festival site, allowing you to enjoy a cozy winter in Yangpyeong. The festival is primarily divided into four themes: a hangover soup travel theme, celebrating Yangpyeong's renowned hangover soup; a reading travel theme that nourishes the soul; a pet-friendly theme for you and your furry companions; and a photo zone brimming with winter ambiance! Additionally, informational leaflets are available at three tourist information centers: Yangpyeong Station, Dumulmeori, and Yongmunsan. By collecting stamps on these leaflets during your visit, you can earn souvenirs based on the number of stamps you gather. If you're seeking a winter getaway that will rejuvenate your body and mind, be sure to visit Yangpyeong!

The Pyeongchang Trout Festival is one of Korea's premier winter festivals, where visitors can enjoy ice fishing for trout. Pyeongchang was the first location to successfully farm trout, and its fish are renowned for being more delicious than those from other regions. Even if you don't have your own fishing gear, you can purchase various tools on-site, and the festival offers services such as preparing trout for sashimi or grilling. The festival focuses on ice fishing, where participants fish through holes drilled in the frozen surface. It also features bare-handed trout catching, sledding, and skating, which enhance the overall experience of the event. You can also reserve a tent zone online in advance for a more cozy and warm fishing experience. You can prepare the trout you catch for sashimi or grilling and enjoy it right away, and even if you don't catch it, you can enjoy various trout dishes such as trout sashimi, grilled trout, sweet and sour pork, and rice bowl!

As its name suggests, the Yeongyang Winter Festival is a destination where you can fully embrace the beauty of winter and partake in various winter sports! Enjoy activities such as sledding, skating, and riding ice trains on a natural ice rink formed by nature. The rental and usage fees for all these activities are included in the festival admission price, allowing you to experience winter sports at an incredibly affordable rate. There's also a sledding slope where children eagerly line up, as well as an ice fishing area where you can catch smelt using a fishing rod. If catching smelt on the ice seems challenging, the smelt fishing experience area, where you can simply scoop them up with a net, is also very popular. Despite being a festival, the prices at the food trucks are reasonable, making it an excellent place to visit with family, friends, or loved ones!
