As the hot summer comes to an end, enjoy a romantic day with the cool breeze!

Let’s enjoy Korea’s September festivals that still carry the warmth of summer!

Introducing various festivals across Korea, each showcasing the unique characteristics of its region.

You’ll have no regrets about the rest of summer and can welcome autumn with excitement!

Let's begin😎

The Colorful Garden Jarasum Flower Festa takes place every spring and fall, and this September’s festival will welcome visitors with autumn flowers like sunflowers and pink muhly grass. Jarasum is a large island divided into East, West, Middle, and South islets, and the festival is especially impressive on Namdo (South Island), known for its charming spots that blend beautifully with nature. Enjoy the flowers and various programs spread over the vast area of Namdo, which is as large as 15 soccer fields!
This year’s theme is “Flowers Floating on the Bukhangang River, Blooming Healing and Happiness,” offering visitors a chance to fully relax in nature. The main attraction, the Flower Garden Healing Course, features a variety of flowers based on special themes that will create unforgettable memories. Jarasum is easily accessible by car without needing a ferry, making it convenient to visit. Whether with family, lovers, or friends, enjoy healing and happiness surrounded by beautiful flowers!

The Siheung Gaetgol Festival is an ecological festival held at Siheung Gaetgol Ecological Park, offering visitors rest and learning opportunities in a unique natural environment. The park covers approximately 5,000 ㎡ of abandoned salt fields where a deep inner bay mudflat has formed—a rare inland tidal flat ecosystem globally. Since the festival takes place within a national wetland protection area, various programs allow visitors to fully enjoy this special terrain.
A highlight is the Gaetgol Treasure Hunt, where participants use an app to find treasures hidden throughout the park. By locating treasure chests on the map and solving quizzes, those who find ten treasures receive a random gift! Another popular activity is the salt farm experience, which recreates the traditional salt harvesting process. Visitors can gather salt using small wooden scrapers and explore exhibitions about old salt fields inside historic salt warehouses.

The Mokpo Port Festival celebrates the rich maritime culture of Mokpo, a historic port city that opened in 1897 and was once one of Korea’s top three ports and six major cities, serving as a key hub for trade and transportation. The festival offers abundant seafood along with various interactive programs and performances, including the traditional “Pasi” auction and the Dokkaebi Market.
“Pasi” refers to trading fish directly from boats, and the festival revives this auction style, allowing visitors to buy seasonal seafood freshly caught by the fully loaded fishing boat. Purchases can be made in small quantities, and the fresh seafood can be grilled on-site at the festival’s grill area. This traditional Pasi auction is uniquely recreated here as a festival and offers a special chance to experience its historical significance firsthand. In addition, visitors can enjoy diverse experiences such as the Dokkaebi Market and cooking classes, showcasing Mokpo’s distinctive culture.
