Pocheon Art Valley has been reborn from an abandoned quarry, once ignored by visitors, into a complex cultural and artistic space where art can be enjoyed amidst nature. Originally, it was a quarry mining high-quality granite called Pocheon stone, but when no more quality stone was found, it was left abandoned as ruins for a long time. However, it has now become a beautiful spot surrounded by majestic cliffs, attracting many tourists. Because of its close connection to stone, a stone culture exhibition hall is also operated here to help visitors learn more about the place.

The main attraction here is Cheonju Lake, formed when rainwater and spring water filled the quarry pits dug out during granite extraction. The surrounding rock formations, carved for stone extraction, and the clear lake come together to offer an outstanding view. In winter, the frozen ice walls along the cliffs add a mysterious atmosphere.

Astronomical Science Museum was a building that served as an elementary school for 55 years and has now become a top nighttime tourist attraction as an astronomy science center. This place, where children’s dreams and hopes grew over a long time, now stimulates children’s curiosity and offers adults a romantic night getaway. With the increasing difficulty of seeing stars in the city, this location not far from Seoul allows visitors to enjoy a sky full of stars.

The most popular observatory lets you observe the sun during the day, and at night you can see the moon, stars, planets, star clusters, and nebulae. Since the objects visible change with the seasons, check the annual observation schedule on the website to find out what you can see now! Besides the observatory facilities, visitors can enjoy the planetarium with an 8-meter giant dome showing mysterious space videos, an indoor astronomy exhibition hall, and an immersive zone using media technology.

Bucheon Art Bunker B39 is a space reborn from a waste incineration plant that closed due to the dioxin scandal into a complex cultural and artistic venue showcasing various artworks. The name holds multiple meanings: B stands for Bucheon and Bunker, and also represents "no boundaries." The number 39 refers both to the original height of the waste storage facility and the nearby National Route 39 where it is located.

While some areas have been completely renovated and modernized, others remain preserved exactly as they were during the plant’s operation. Even the corridors connecting different spaces are used as exhibition areas, offering urban art relaxation through the coexistence of old and new. Crossing genre boundaries, the venue hosts exhibitions, performances staged in the unique setting of the incineration plant, and educational programs that discover citizens’ potential—providing a harmonious blend of art and relaxation just like the space itself.
