May is a month full of life, as colorful flowers bloom all around.

You want to enjoy the flowers, but sometimes a cool drink indoors sounds even better in the warm weather.

For moments like that, there are cafés in Korea with beautiful flower gardens in full bloom during May.

Some flowers have a short blooming period, so make sure to check the timing before you visit!

Let's begin😎

Flower and Tree is a nature experience farm and cafe filled with wildflowers, where you can enjoy roses blooming all around the garden and healthful drinks. The most famous photo spot at the entrance is the Angela Rose, which covers the arch and pillars in pink, offering a beautiful view. Although the garden isn't very large, you can enjoy various wildflowers and photo zones, all carefully cultivated. The representative Angela Rose, with its deep pink hue, starts blooming in May and continues until June, giving visitors plenty of time to enjoy its beauty. Inside the cafe, the cozy and antique decor creates a relaxing atmosphere. The menu includes simple options like hand-drip coffee, smoothies, and tea, with the smoothies made from home-grown or healthy ingredients, adding to their delightful taste. Flower teas, fermented teas, and herbal teas are also available, further enhancing the calm atmosphere of the cafe.

Namcheon Nokcha Patbingsu is located under a wisteria tunnel, creating an exotic atmosphere. The place became famous for its beautiful photo zone, where purple, lush flower clusters hang like bunches of grapes. It was even featured on TV as a master of red bean shaved ice. Be sure to try their affordable Boseong Green Tea Red Bean Shaved Ice, simply made with ice, red beans, and green tea powder. The wisteria flowers bloom from late April to early May, but they fade quickly, so it's hard to predict the exact timing. If the wisteria flowers have already fallen, don’t be disappointed. Visit the second floor of the shop, where you may still catch a glimpse of the remaining flowers. After passing through a secret passage, you can take photos with the wisteria flowers up close!

At Mahogany, you can take photos among a garden full of daisy flowers and enjoy cute desserts. In May, the garden is filled with white Shasta daisies, making you feel surrounded by flowers. The Shasta daisy, known for its white petals and yellow center, is also called the "fried egg flower." It usually blooms beautifully in mid-May and lasts for about two weeks. Enjoy the pure beauty of Shasta daisies while exploring the photo zones and tasting daisy-shaped desserts. This place shares its garden and parking lot with Dore Dore, a cake factory, and Mahogany, a bakery. If you are visiting with children, you can only use Dore Dore. No matter where you go, you'll enjoy beautiful spots in the garden, including not only daisies but also hydrangeas and spirea. This is one of the must-visit beautiful cafes during this time!

JJ Gallery is run by a Western-style painter, offering both an art exhibition and café experience indoors, while outside you can enjoy a beautiful flower garden. In May, the expansive flower garden is filled with peonies, painting the outdoor space in shades of pink. The gallery’s curator and café owner, Kim Jeongja, designed this space to allow people to escape the city, enjoy art up close, and savor a cup of coffee. True to her vision, the paintings displayed on the walls and the view of the peony garden through the windows bring a sense of tranquility, providing great sights while sipping tea or coffee. Peonies are loved for their large, beautiful blooms, vibrant colors, and rich fragrance. Known for their medicinal properties, their roots have been used as herbal medicine for centuries. This charming place, offering a peaceful atmosphere, enhances the beauty of Gyeongju, a city full of history and tradition.

Green Barley Warehouse offers a stunning landscape with vast green barley fields that can be enjoyed year-round. Outside the café, you can admire the expansive barley fields and the café building, which was transformed from an old barn. This scenery became famous as it served as the backdrop for the drama "Our Beloved Summer"! Inside the café, large windows allow you to enjoy the view of the barley fields, making it possible to appreciate the landscape from anywhere. The reason the landscape is beautiful throughout the year is that the scenery changes with each season. From April to early May, the barley fields are lush and green, while from late May to June, the barley turns golden as it grows. By July, it’s harvest time, and starting in September, new pasture grass begins to grow. In winter, the wide fields covered in snow make the lone café building stand out even more. Be sure to check out the unique local products available at Green Barley Warehouse!

Boromwat, meaning "the field where the wind blows," offers beautiful flowers and various photo spots that change with the seasons. While it showcases a variety of flowers year-round, May is the most vibrant month. In this season, you can enjoy the colorful flowers and trees blooming in both the indoor and outdoor gardens, including buckwheat, Flamingo Salix, and barley. Among them, the highlight of Boromwat in May is the purple canola flower. Unlike the typical yellow canola that blooms around March, the purple canola, called "Orychophragmus violaceus," blooms later, from May to June. You can explore several areas, from the indoor garden to the café and outdoor flower fields. Although the purple canola field isn't large, the expansive view and the sea of purple flowers are stunning. The backdrop of Jeju's oreums (volcanic mountains) adds to the beauty, making it a perfect spot for a memorable photo!
