After leaving Yeonmujang-gil, the largest commercial area in Seongsu-dong, we head to the north side of Seongsu-dong. If you've never been to this area before, you might be a little surprised at how different it is from Yeonmujang-gil. The area is a mix of car repair shops, residential areas, and office and commercial areas, giving it a unique atmosphere. As you explore the hidden restaurants in the alleyways, you'll find yourself immersed in a different atmosphere.

Two restaurants stand out in this area for their different interpretations of Korea's favorite food, Samgyeopsal(pork belly BBQ). The first is Jamsugyojip, on the main street. This restaurant specializes in frozen samgyeopsal with thinly sliced pork belly, giving you a fresh and flavorful experience unlike any other frozen samgyeopsal restaurant. Jamsu Gyojip has gained popularity among locals and tourists alike through word of mouth without any advertisements. This means that you are guaranteed to have a delicious meal.

In addition to the meat, the menu also offers a wide variety of side dishes and drinks, making it a great place to enjoy with friends and family. If you're a traveler who has already tried the typical Korean pork belly and is looking for a unique dining experience, Jamsugyojip is one of the places I highly recommend. However, it is very popular, so reservations are recommended.

Another samgyeopsal restaurant is an old one, and while it has the typical shape of pork belly, the flavor is not typical. 'Happy Restaurant', which brings happiness to those who order samgyeopsal, is located in an old alley just inside Seongsu Station. For lunch, they serve the usual Korean menu, but from 17:00 to 21:00, they serve pork belly, which is fantastic for travelers looking for a taste of local culture, both in price and atmosphere.

In Korea, old restaurants are called 'nopo', and this place is all about the atmosphere. The grilled pork belly and kimchi, along with a glass of soju to wash it all down, are a memorable experience for everyone, from office workers to locals to travelers. It's also popular and doesn't take reservations, so we recommend getting there before 6 p.m. If you're planning a trip to Korea, this is a great place to enjoy pork belly, soju, and self-made fried rice.

The area is also dotted with cafes that stand out. One such cafe is Onion Seongsu, which represents the north side of Seongsu Station. Onion Seongsu is a cozy and unique cafe that is very popular among locals and tourists alike. Just like its unique name, the design and atmosphere inside and out are very special. The interior of the cafe is stylishly decorated and furnished, and there are artistic elements everywhere, giving it a calming artistic flair. Especially if you sit by the window and enjoy your coffee, you can enjoy the surrounding scenery and relax.

'Break the Silence' is a music bar in Seongsu where you can enjoy a cocktail, beer, whiskey, or wine while listening to your favorite music on hi-fi sound. This music bar is one of the best places to enjoy special moments with friends and lovers of alcohol and music. They have a wide selection of wines and maintain strict standards for the quality and variety of their wine menu, so you can enjoy different styles of red, white, and rosé wines, as well as a great selection of plated appetizers.
