Greedy Scent helps you capture those moments in a fragrance of your own. More than just making perfumes, they strive to preserve your cherished memories in every bottle. The experience here is available in English, Chinese, and Japanese, so you won’t have any communication difficulties with the staff. Additionally, by using the TriPriend app, you can receive a special Greedy Scent souvenir! As you create your personalized perfume, you can also make a mini perfume or sachet with your unique scent for free. Greedy Scent’s second location, the Bukchon branch, is about a 10-minute walk from Exit 1 of Anguk Station, near Bukchon Hanok Village. Due to its proximity to major tourist attractions such as the Blue House and Gyeongbokgung Palace, this branch is especially loved by visitors. As it is located in Bukchon, a neighborhood famous for its traditional hanok houses, the area offers a serene and nostalgic atmosphere. The store itself is a remodeled hanok, preserving the wooden beam roof while harmoniously blending modern and traditional interior design. The natural elements, such as stone and wood, along with the store’s warm and cozy ambiance, create a calming experience. Since you might not yet be familiar with your favorite fragrance ingredients and their combinations, it’s important to take your time exploring and getting to know different scents. Even after selecting your ingredients, you can adjust the proportions carefully, experiencing how each blend reacts, until you find your perfect scent. Whether you're thinking of the person receiving the gift or those who will experience your fragrance, this process allows you to fill your creation with happy memories. It’s not just about the recipient—it’s also a special opportunity to learn what scents your companions enjoy. Now, shall we take a closer look at the step-by-step process of creating and packaging your very own perfume at Greedy Scent?
At Greedy Scent, you can create a unique fragrance filled with your own memories using 36 premium ingredients. Take your time exploring to discover the scents you naturally prefer and identifying the names of familiar fragrances you’ve encountered before. Perfume is composed of three layers: the top note, which gives the first impression; the middle note, which serves as the core theme; and the base note, which provides depth and longevity. The fragrance ingredients are arranged in this order, and a guidebook explaining the characteristics of each note is provided to help you navigate the selection process. You will choose six fragrance ingredients—two from each note—and can even rate them based on your personal preference.
Before creating your final perfume, you will go through a three-step sampling process to refine your fragrance. While selecting the right ingredients is important, the ratio in which they are blended plays a crucial role as well. Even if you choose the same ingredients as someone else, this process allows you to create a scent that is uniquely yours. If you have a favorite perfume that you'd like to use as a reference, feel free to ask for guidance—they'll help you get as close to that scent as possible. First, start by adding one drop of each selected ingredient into a tube and take a whiff. Think about which scent needs to be enhanced and which should be toned down. In the second step, adjust the ratios and add more of the necessary scents. Repeat this process one more time, and by the end, you’ll have your very own customized sample!
Once the sample creation is complete, they will calculate the exact proportions for your final 50ml perfume. Now, place the beaker on the scale and carefully measure each ingredient according to the finalized ratios. Perfumes are categorized based on the concentration of fragrance oils they contain: from Shower Cologne (2-6%), Eau de Cologne, Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum, to Parfum Extrait. Among these, Greedy Scent’s perfumes fall under Eau de Parfum, with a fragrance concentration of 15-20%. This high concentration ensures a long-lasting scent that lasts 5 to 7 hours, making it ideal for outings from day to night. Once your perfume is wrapped in its sleek, minimalistic packaging, reminiscent of high-end brands, your one-of-a-kind fragrance is officially complete! You can personalize the label by writing the date and your name, making it even more special. If it's a gift, adding the recipient's name will turn it into a truly memorable present. You can also give your perfume a unique name! After completing the entire process, take some time to capture beautiful moments in Greedy Scent’s cozy space—snap some photos, chat, and reflect on your experience. Your perfume will be placed in a luxurious yet eco-friendly package, designed to be both stylish and sustainable. For the best results, let your fragrance mature for about two weeks before use!
