Sinduri Coastal Sand Dune is Koreaās only sand dune area, where a vast sandy plain connected to Sinduri Beach resembles a desert landscape. It is believed to have gradually formed over approximately 15,000 years since the Ice Age, as strong winds carried sand to the coastline, shaping its current form over many centuries. This site is worth visiting not only for its exotic, desert-like scenery but also because it is a unique natural heritage with distinctive terrain found nowhere else in Korea.
Sand dunes are sand hills formed by wind-driven sand deposits, and this area hosts a rare ecosystem unique to coastal dunes, with various rare plants and animals inhabiting it. Visitors can enjoy the dunes by following the boardwalk paths; the A course, taking about 30 minutes, focuses mainly on the sand dunes, while the B course, about an hour long, offers views of diverse natural and ecological points.
