Mangwon Market is loved by both locals and tourists for its variety of foods and multifunctional cultural spaces. What makes it unique is its popularity among the 20–30s generation — thanks to the neighborhood’s many newlyweds and young single-person households, the market reflects trends with new menu items and bold changes. You can enjoy traditional foods like crispy chili fritters at the modern Korean restaurant Uirak, popular tteokgalbi, and dakgangjeong.

Packing your food for a picnic at nearby Mangwon Hangang Park lets you enjoy the serene riverside scenery and a happy time. Cafe M, operated by the local community economy, allows visitors to eat food purchased from Mangwon Market. If you can’t visit the park, you can still relax indoors with your drinks and food in a cool, comfortable space.

Lazy Cactus is a unique cactus-themed shop with a bright yellow exterior tucked into a corner of the alley. It’s filled with a variety of designer goods such as cactus-themed items, stationery, and postcards. The slogan “It’s okay to be lazy” is displayed throughout the shop, creating a comforting atmosphere amid a busy day.

The shop’s signature is the Lazy Cactus character — babe Cacti, small cactus dolls curled up with a nonchalant expression. You can place them in pots like real cacti or use them as decorative items. Looking for a small source of relaxation on your windowsill or desk? Instead of a plant that’s hard to care for, try bringing home one of these curled-up babe Cacti! Beyond cacti, you can also explore various other items in eye-catching yellow and green hues.

Yookjang is a popular restaurant offering a modern reinterpretation of the traditional Korean spicy beef soup, yukgaejang. Yukgaejang is a hot, spicy soup made with shredded beef, various vegetables, and red chili powder. At Yookjang, you can enjoy a variety of yukgaejang, from traditional recipes to fusion versions with added flavors. Try the original yukgaejang made using a three-generation-old family recipe, or sample fusion styles enhanced with sweet and tangy tomato or rich peanut flavors.

Typically served with rice, Yukgaejang is also available in a noodle version for those who prefer a ramyun-style experience. The tomato yukgaejang is ideal for those who are sensitive to spice, while the spicy tomato version is perfect for anyone seeking a hotter kick!
